When the financial institutions of your country forgot that they owed much to the taxpayers who had bailed them out, the people took to the streets in protest.
When some of the same financial institutions attempted to charge people additional fees for the use of their own money, the people turned to other alternatives and the banks recanted.
When governments and businesses forget whom they serve, the people will seek out other means for receiving the services they had expected from these institutions.
Worldwide events are being managed by 140-character tweets. Word-of-mouth spreads on social networks at the speed of broadband. New ideas flourish and are exchanged on forums and blogs every single day.
