Some days you don't feel like getting up early to write... but you do it anyway. You wonder if it is worthwhile translating your e-books for the Kindle reader, but you persist at it anyway. There are times you wish you could just ignore your to-do list and curl up with a good book... but you carry on anyway.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, as they say.
There have been many projects you started in the past - and dropped - because you could not keep the momentum going, either through distraction or loss of interest. What is the difference between the activities you stopped working on and those that maintain your attention... and action? Such as writing your blog and re-formatting your tutorials.
Is there an inner censor that determines the worthiness of which activities should command your best efforts and persistence?
Well... yes.
Your partner in Life - the eternal part of yourself - is intimately involved in these choices, whether you are aware of it or not. When you are working on something that makes your heart sing, you feel almost "divinely inspired." And this is exactly the case. Abraham-Hicks would say you are in your vortex. You are in alignment with your Higher Self and, as a result, higher vibrating energy surges through everything you touch. You are being your true self and doing what you came here to accomplish.
When you begin projects that are not the best fit for you, roadblocks pop up, inspiration feels sludgy, and the wind beneath your wings stops carrying you forward. Even though an idea might have sounded intriguing at the outset, if it is not in alignment with your purpose for this lifetime, the continuation of it will feel too much like a struggle. That's your signal to back off and find an avenue that feels better.
This struggling feeling often occurs when you follow a path that someone else has laid out for you. It just does not work, unless you are in complete agreement with the choices. And that agreement must include the eternal part of you, who never loses sight of your own intended purpose for being on earth at this time. Persisting down the wrong road will take you to the wrong place. And how you feel about the journey tells you if you're heading in the right direction or not.
On the other hand, when you persist in activities that are in alignment with your eternal self, your heart feels open, you see better how to proceed and you are filled with the energy of joyful accomplishment. Once you have experienced this joy of "just being you," you never want to settle again.
You persist at these blog posts because the energy flows as you write. This is what you are meant to be doing and you can feel the truth of this. You persist at re-working your tutorials for the new technology because the information is useful to others. It has value and the work itself is in alignment with who you are... a bridge between the sacred and the mundane.
You have many ideas on your "to-do" lists that may never be realized in concrete terms because the energy will not be there to sustain them. But you will know the difference between the keepers and the ones that can be safely set aside.
Just follow the energy and your feet will always land on the right road.
