If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It

 

When you edit your work for use in other publications, be very careful that you do not excise the energetic essence at the same time that you remove a few words. Inspirational writing, such as you create, has an energy flow inherent in it and, when you revise the wording, you run the risk of losing its meaning and "ah-ha" quality.

Your current writing project involves compiling your blog posts into a series of e-books on living day-to-day from the perspective of eternity. When you rewrite to make the chapters more universal in nature, you do not want to lose the original tone or the point of each day's lesson.

Our morning blogging sessions are meant to be wake-up calls to help you sort out your life and to remind you to follow the direction of your highest calling. You are not the only one searching for such guidance and you do not want to soften the impact of what Life wants for your readers, as tough as you think it might sound to some people.

If the shoe fits. Just sayin'.

 

Taking Time to Heal

 

When your body gets out of sorts, as it did with this year's beastly pollen season, ignoring the need for rest - and medicine - merely prolongs the time it takes to heal. Struggling along at half-mast is not conducive to high-vibrational work and, the more you "tough it out," the less productive you ultimately become. Why wait until you are completely debilitated to stop and regroup?

"Going with the flow" means paying attention to your body's messages, especially when you know something is not quite right. An energy drop at 3:00 PM four days in a row means it is time to stop and take a break. Rather than grabbing a coffee, try resting for fifteen minutes instead. It will make a difference.

You do not like to take "manufactured" medicines, preferring the natural home remedies that usually work for you. And had you acted upon your body's obvious suggestions for rest - prolonged yawning and energy dips - salt water and Reiki would have been enough.

 But you didn't pay attention and they weren't sufficient to do the job this time.

When you compare the cost of fifteen minutes of rest here and there with weeks of discomfort and foggy thinking, there is no contest. It just requires a little more self-awareness and self-nurturing on your part.

If you are not up to par, everything around you suffers a little - your work is less than stellar, your takeout meals more frequent and your mood quite ill-tempered. All for the sake of a quarter hour's downtime.

You write about "going with the flow," yet missed the boat this time around. Self-awareness trumps self-importance, okay?

 

 

Where In The World?

 

You are dreaming of mountains and forests and a babbling brook running through the yard. You are envisioning a cabin with a porch where you can write in the quiet hours of early morning. You have seen a hill where you will place your meditation area.

Now you must invite yourself inside your cabin and live in it virtually in order to attract it to you in the physical world. See yourself cooking in the kitchen, sleeping in the comfortable bed, reading in the living room alcove. Smell the candles burning, hear the crackling of the fire and feel the joy of being... home.

And know that this place awaits you even now.

When a vision continues powerfully enough that you can see and feel yourself in the picture, what could stop it from manifesting in physical reality? Only your limiting beliefs.

When a vision feels like love, you know that it is right. Feel the flow of energy building around your dream and believe it real.

When you can smell the candles burning and hear the leaves rustling, know that you are very close, oh so very close to realizing your dreams.

Now all that remains is finding the physical representation of what you have been seeing. You know it is out there somewhere; you have seen it so clearly. There is a mountain (or a foothill) with your name on it.

But where?

Listen for the messages, follow the guidance and pack your bags.

Momentum is building and you don't want to miss the boat (well... moving van).

Intuit and Do It

This morning before our blogging session an idea popped into your mind... an idea that could help you create additional income. The tasks involved would mean using your left-brain logical abilities more than the inspirational, intuitive work that you are coming to prefer, however.

What do you do about this idea that seems to have arrived out of nowhere?

Take a step, follow up and see where it leads, of course.

You have already been researching (for other purposes) two of the software updates that may be required. Coincidence? You have just purchased a new, faster computer that would make your work flow more easily. Another coincidence? A short while ago, you upgraded to the unlimited-number-of-blogs option on your Typepad account, so your website for this new business would be free, essentially. And the work itself would not require a huge learning curve. Hmmmmm...

Play with this new idea in your mind for a few days. Allow further messages to pop in that help you see the concept more clearly. Do your left-brain research on additional tools and skills you need to acquire. Journal with your Higher Self to get a firmer grasp on the whole thing.

You see that the process is both intuitive and practical. Even after you have launched this new part of your business, you can use the same approach to keep it healthy and growing.

Intuit and do it. What a system.

Second Guessing Your Inner Guidance

 

When you get a quick urge to "turn here" do you stay the course... or turn? When you have a "knowing" about where to purchase the item you need, do you go there to buy it or grab something in a more convenient store?

Yesterday you blew two instances of guidance that would have saved you time and money.

At the last intersection with stoplights heading for home, you had the choice of going into the left turn lane with the red light or straight through with the green. You opted for straight through and, of course, the light changed just before you got to the white line. Had you followed your prompting to use the left turn lane, you would have made it home sooner.

In the case of the broken fan, you were intending to find a new, stronger version at your local home supply store. On the way, you picked up a prescription at the drugstore, where you saw a fan that would suit your needs reasonably well and so you purchased it. You noticed that the box was not well sealed, but accepted the sales clerk's explanation and left with the fan.

When you opened the carton that evening, however, you were now certain that this was a returned item. Putting the fan together proved it, with unsealed bags and some of the parts already joined together. And as you neared the end of the installation, where one part would not fit onto another, you realized that you, also, would need to return this fan, likely for the same reason the last person brought it back.

Had you followed your first, original guidance, you would now have a working fan and would not need to explain why you want your money back. Hopefully the fan you want is still available at the original store, where you will also need to go.

What if this had been a matter of life and death?

You have asked to work more closely with the Divine Aspect of your being - your Higher Self - yet you are not trusting the messages that arrive, often as clearly as "turn left here." You are still second-guessing with your logical mind. But you forget that your Higher Self sees from a broader perspective.

Or perhaps you thought such mundane aspects of life were not worthy of attention from your Inner Divinity.

When you invite your Higher Self to blend with your Earth personality, there is no separation of duties. Higher Self is on the job 24/7, including at traffic lights. Your personality, likewise, is learning to read the subtle energies and messages of the unseen world.

So try not to second guess too often. You don't want to squash this new ability before it's taken hold. The ability to see and know from your Inner Divinity is a gift of grace.

And the only failsafe way of living there is.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

 

Sometimes when you receive messages from your inner guidance, they do not make sense to you. Or they make sense and you cannot see how to proceed. Other times they do not make sense and you do not know what the next step should be.

What do you do in this case?

Just start.

Quite often both the message and the steps are clear enough, but there is fear and uncertainty as to how your actions will be seen by others.

For example, you reside in a region with a sub-tropical climate. You have received guidance to write a blog about an upcoming mini ice age. You have halfheartedly begun your research, but cannot bring yourself to begin writing publicly on this subject.

You have your message. You know the next steps. Why do you stall?

The Divine Aspect of your being - your Higher Self - sees with the eyes of the Infinite. The mortal part of you tends to see only what you already believe. Your task now is to learn to see as your Higher Self sees. This will make your Ice Age Project more believable in your own mind.

But you must also make a show of faith in your inner guidance; otherwise it begins to disappear, does it not?

One way to move forward with your project is to begin undertaking the massive amount of research it will involve. Make yourself a timeline for researching and then writing. The more you move in the direction of your guidance, the stronger and clearer the messages become.

Being at one with the Divine Aspect of your being raises the bar for everything you do. You need to start jumping higher now. It is time.

The Rest of the Story

 

 

For over two weeks, you have been receiving messages in your journaling to back up your computer files and purchase a new laptop. You went as far as buying new flash drives for the backing-up but as of this morning they are still in their packages. You visited two stores but returned with no laptop.

Today when your alarm rang at 6:30 AM, you got up, turned on your laptop as usual and... it would not start. And so you are writing this blog post by hand.

When your Higher Self shows you the way, why would you not wholeheartedly heed the guidance? You have learned this morning that halfheartedly does not accomplish the same result.

The Divine Aspect of yourself (your Higher Self, as you call it), has your best interests at heart. And second-guessing is no longer an option if you truly wish to be at one with your Inner Divinity.

Trust in the messages. Trust your higher/inner guidance.

And get a new laptop, stat.

Here's the rest of the story: After the computer was unplugged, it finally shut down an hour later. I let it rest awhile and when I turned it back on, it diagnosed itself and completed a system restore with no loss of data. But my lesson was learned. The flash drives are out of their packages, my files are now backed up and a new laptop will be purchased tomorrow.

Some Days Are Better Than Others

 

Some days you feel as if you are skipping through life easily and freely. Other days it feels as if you are running in place, getting nowhere at all.

But where is it you are "going?"

When days feel non-productive from a human perspective, what do you think might be going on internally? This past weekend, you were perplexed by some choices you needed to make. And hours of research brought you no closer to understanding what to "do."

You drove yourself to search and search and search externally for your answers. But when you finally stopped and listened within -- in the stillness -- what did you hear?

Use your intuition. Let your inner knowing guide you when your human senses cannot find the truth of the matter.

Now is the time to trust your internal guidance system, allowing your next moves to be illuminated from within. Your logical mind is a useful tool, but there are times when it does not -- and cannot -- serve you well.

When faced with multiple choices and no clear winner showing up, stop running in circles and sit still. Address each possibility with an open heart, and your whole being will glow with life when given the "right" choice.

This inner knowing/glowing is your truth-o-meter.

Pay attention and you will be happily skipping along your life's path once again. Ignore it and you will be a stuck truck. As you know.

All Is Well; All Is As It Should Be

"All Is Well; All Is As It Should Be."

You first heard these words many years ago from a trusted teacher.

When you repeated them, you could calm yourself in any situation -- even in the midst of turmoil. "All is well." Either the turmoil won't last long... or it is necessary for your growth.

In either case, nothing was out of sorts and a flurry of activity was unnecessary. "All is as it should be" stilled your mind and emotions enough to see the truth of the matter, so that any action could be guided by internal Light and not by human fear.

Mantras such as this are useful while you are using the "as if" method, while your personality that fears is still battling the inner voice that knows.

With discipline and practice, the inner voice becomes stronger and clearer and you do not need to remind yourself that all is well... it just is.

Ignoring Your Inner Naysayer

 

What do you do when your inner guidance seems almost impossible to follow?

You act "as if." You put in your best good faith effort. Your Higher Self knows where you're going, even if your conscious mind does not.

Being human, you cannot help but be anxious about the seeming impossibility of what you're trying to accomplish. On the other hand, you do not want to miss arriving at the "promised land," either.

Would it not be easier to just follow the guidance as it comes and ignore the inner naysaying? We understand that you have appointments to keep and tasks on your schedule. What would be the consequence if these mundane jobs were replaced by the direction of your inner guidance?

If your inner guidance does not sit well with you, that is one thing. Possibly your ego has interjected items that are not in alignment with your Higher Self's agenda. This you must resolve in deep contemplation -- in the stillness where your conscious mind has less influence.

Once you are sure about the source of your guidance, you can have more confidence in its accuracy. Resisting inner guidance makes your life feel more difficult. The flow of almost everything slows down or ceases. Problems arise because of the guilt and anxiety that now set the tone of your daily life.

Following your heart/guidance/Higher Self feels like love. Life feels brighter. Rainbows appear in the sky. Cash arrives unexpectedly. Your life feels purposeful and your intentions powerful.

Constantly questioning your guidance closes you down from your Higher Self's influence. You can feel your energy lowering when this happens.

When you only see a few steps of the path, you sometimes lose faith that the rest will appear as you move forward. Yet this is what you must do. Continue to work with your visions, act "as if" they are becoming reality and more of the way will be shown. The more you do this, the easier it becomes.

Your Higher Self is your connection with the Divine. Deep inner guidance comes via your Higher Self. This guidance relates to the Divine Plan of your life. Following this plan makes you whole.
