Raising the Bar

 

Last night you watched a singing competition on television. Even though it is early in the season, as such shows go, the contestants who are "in it to win it" are raising the bar on their performances each week. They are evolving before your eyes. Evolution by excellence.

What inner source do they draw upon that brings out the best in them... and another best... and yet another best? It is more than talent and technique. It is Life awakening.

Over the next few weeks, pay attention to the individuals whose inner glow magnifies. When you are doing work you love - and living your dream - you tower over other mortals who merely shrug and settle.

Let these young singers be an incentive for you.

Be so at one with your vision that it continues to build in energy. Open yourself to Life and allow it to flow through you. Always take the high road in all that you do. Be your Self... all of your Self.

Expand. Evolve. Live.   

The Bling of Spring

 

The wealth of life is not the gold of the earth shaped into beautiful trinkets by human hands. Let us fill our senses with the sights, the sounds, the scents of spring instead. Does a metal ornament make your heart soar and embed its beauty in the deep recesses of your soul? Can a yellow bracelet make you write a poem... like a daffodil can?

Let us celebrate with the tulips, the robins, the buds on their trees - the renewal of vibrant life in its colorful glory. The jewels of the season enrich us beyond measure and inspire us to write poems as beautiful as themselves.

"It's A Wonderful World"

 

In the midst of all the news and predictions of doom and gloom, one thing is for certain: your beautiful planet Earth will be just fine. Humans may encounter some difficulties, but the rest of nature will manage, no matter what happens to your economy or infrastructure.

In fact, if you wish to elevate your own consciousness above the mainstream of human life, go talk to the trees. Spend time with the plants in your garden. There is life force everywhere and, as you detach more and more from ego-inflicted silliness, you will sense this.

Spend a few moments each day immersing yourself in "earth energy." It will cleanse you. When you take your daily walk, listen for the bird calls. Stop to watch the squirrels. Say hello to the large, old trees in your neighborhood. Give them a blessing as you pass. Feel reverence for the Earth Mother and the life she sustains.

You do not need to be a tree-hugger to know how fortunate you are to enjoy Earth's bounty. Just remember to give back the equivalent of what you take and all remains in balance.

As a writer, you create energy in the form of prayers, poems and inspirational sayings. Dedicate your next series to the Sacred Mother of the Earth and share your words widely. This is your way of giving back.

Adventures in Grocery Shopping

 

Not all questions require Divine wisdom for an answer. There are many instances when you can figure things out at the physical level. When to sleep, eat and work, for example.

You do not need higher guidance to know if a melon is ripe or if your feet are cold. Your physical senses serve you well enough here.

On the other hand, it just feels better when you are functioning in concert with your Higher Self energy... when you draw all of your attention to, say, the choosing of a cantaloupe for supper. Can you have a mystical experience in the produce aisle? Why not try it and see?

Next time you are shopping for fresh fruits and vegetables, pull all of your awareness toward the choosing of each item you will eventually eat. Feel the textures, the fragrances, the weight. Ask each item if it is willing to be used and consumed by you and your family. Even a fruit plucked from the mother plant has residual energy you can connect with.

Sense its vitality to know how fresh it is... how recently it has been gathered and delivered to your grocery shop. You won't get the same answers from a box of over-processed cereal, but you can certainly learn to sense energy with fresh foods.

Every aspect of your life can become an experience to savor and enjoy, when you bring your whole self into the picture. Even the mundane, repetitive tasks that you normally don't think much about, such as shopping for food. Pull your total awareness into each job and let it become an adventure in its own right. Smell the bread, caress the peaches, rattle the peanuts.

Add some Life to your life.

And if people look at you funny, just smile and tell them you're a guide for the grocery adventure tour. All are welcome to join.

When Your Ship Comes In

 

Are you waiting until you retire before you begin tackling the more esoteric and creative work on your to-do list? Or would you prefer to watch someone else being creative on the electronic box in your living room?

Use of time is a choice and you can choose to be active or passive in the unfolding of your own life.

Do not make the mistake of holding back the expression of your talents, while waiting for the ideal setting in which to write. Or the best tools. Or free time. Or your ship to come in.

Living in a way that is not congruent with who you are squashes so much of your life force that raising your vibrational energy always feels like an uphill climb. And, of course, creativity flows best while you are in a vortex of higher energy.

You are busy. You get tired. There are always reasons why the work that is most fulfilling to you drops to the bottom of the list.

It is time to rearrange your list.

The Chill Is In the Air... Finally

 

In your southern state of Florida, fall and winter take their time arriving.

In the north, winter is a time of hunkering down and sitting indoors by the fire. In the south, where temperatures are just now dropping below 80 degrees, winter is the time to kick up your heels and revel in the cool, dry air that is so invigorating after months of heat and humidity.

So while the snow-bound slumber, the beach-bound awaken.

What new projects are popping up into your awareness as your energy picks up steam? What outdoor activities have you planned now that heatstroke is not an issue? Where will your adventures lead you in this season of liberation from the machinery that keeps you cool - and trapped - indoors?

Climate is a little like childbirth. Once the baby has come, the pain disappears. Now that pleasant weather has arrived again, the hot, sticky days of August are gone from your mind.

In the south, the world feels fresh and new. Gardens are planted, oranges ripen, strawberries bloom.

So... what new life are you bringing forth this season?

To Play the Lottery of Life, You Have to Buy a Ticket

Abraham-Hicks talks about Life being engaged when you have a desire powerful enough that momentum builds sufficiently to manifest it in the physical world.

This could be a desire for a new automobile, where you see the car of your dreams in your mind's eye, in every detail, including color and style. Or the desire could spring from your passion to rescue animals from others' neglect and you "magically" gain the funds to feed and house extra pets.

Instead of sitting back and waiting for the Universe to deliver something generic, why not involve yourself in the creation of your own Life?

Is the manifesting of material goods less worthy than the desire to help others? That is not the question. What matters is that you are enthused about a direction you are taking, about a vision you are seeing.

This adds vitality to your daily living. You can feel yourself become "more" when your thoughts and feelings are so focused.

You don't want to build up a stockpile of "stuff" around you, but you do want to experience the thrill of the chase. If a yellow Mustang convertible turns on your bliss meter, it is worthy of your attention and effort. If you are neutral about the car you drive, turn your focus and energy to other things that matter more.

You, personally, are passionate enough about your writing that you awaken early each day to do it. This task brings Life into your world. It is the hour of adventure that begins your morning.

Would you not love your entire day to feel like this? If there are times you don't have strong, big, burning passions, work with little ones.

A car doesn't go anywhere when it is stuck in neutral. And neither do you.

Are We Living in a Fantasy Land?

 

 Divine Energy of Life… please tell me what it is I need to know.

Even though it is classified as a fantasy novel, the Game of Thrones book you are reading gives you a clear picture of the human situation at the present time. Many kings, kingmakers and would-be kings vying for power; many advisors and hangers-on who love the game more than they love the people they are ostensibly serving; and a mere handful of truth-seekers who are sickened by gamesmanship at any cost.

You see how those characters (in the book) with a strong inner light are growing in wisdom and ability, while all the rest continue to play games.

The question is… do you use your light to combat the darkness as the situation becomes more dire… or do you quit the game altogether and seek your refuge in a quiet corner of the forest?

“Against” does not really solve much in the long run. When there is no one willing to stay in the game, people go home and carry on the job of living. There is so much more to Life than vying for power and riches. Within each person on earth there is a Life force that, when acknowledged fully, can provide a foundation far, far stronger than any show of military might or any number of bank accounts.
