The Love of a Mother

 

There are times when you could burst open with joy, you are so filled with love for your child. From birth to adulthood, this feeling never diminishes. Even in the midst of disagreements or physical separations, love abides.

The Sacred Mother of the Earth - the energy essence you call Gaia - has a similar relationship with the planet on which you make your home. Fierce love, protective love, abiding love. You have fought for the rights of your child on many occasions and, likewise, Gaia defends the well-being of planet Earth.

Just as a human child cries when it is hurt, the Earth must also release pain when stabbed repeatedly in her core. Why would you assume the planet is immune to feelings of pain and distress? The more humans dig, drill and mutilate the body of Earth, the more you will experience the Earth's releasing of pain through eruptions and seismic shudders.

There is Life in all of life. Earth is the home of your life. Instead of continuing to create vicious havoc in your dwelling place, think of what you can do to repair the injuries. Of what you can do to soothe the hurts.

Your Mother Earth offers you shelter, food, water, warmth. What do you give back in return?

When All Else Fails, Call Your Mother

When life on Earth gets too tough to manage on your own, who do you rely upon for help?

When you fear you have lost your way, where do you look for the guidance to see more clearly?

When you feel so alone, you can't stand it for another minute, what do you do?

You call your mother, do you not?

And when your earthly mother is no longer available to you, you have a powerful backup system: The Sacred Mother, the Divine Feminine, Madonna... call this energy what you will, for it represents the feminine aspect of the Godhead.

Depending on your traditions, you might know individual aspects of the Sacred Mother as Kuan Yin, Shakti, Kali, Isis or Mother Mary. There are many more you are not aware of, but their energy blends and vibrates as one.

The Sacred Mothers have a role to play in your Divine plan and purpose. It would be good, therefore, to get to know their energy. In your contemplative times, call upon the Mothers to comfort, protect and guide you. In times of stress, call upon the Mothers to soothe your worries. In times of joy, share your happiness and gratitude with the Sacred Mothers.

The Divine Mother energy is both accessible and powerful.
